KFO 311-Symposium „Cardiac and pulmonary failure: mechanical unloading and repair“
The first international symposium “Cardiac and pulmonary failure: mechanical unloading and repair” was organized by our Clinical Research Unit (Klinische Forschergruppe, KFO 311) under the scientific direction of Prof. J. Bauersachs and Prof. T. Kempf on 23rd and 24th November in Hanover.
After numerous presentations by renowned national and international experts, the 150 participants vividly discussed the exciting and quickly emerging field of biological and mechanical therapies for acute and advanced organ failure. This symposium focused on insights into the biological effects of mechanical unloading in cardiac and pulmonary failure, discovery of novel biological and pharmacological therapies, and identification of innovative applications and evidence-based development of future unloading and support strategies. Three successful junior researchers were presented with the Young Investigator award of KFO 311.
